Managing a website can be cumbersome.  There are many topic areas to cover, each of them encompassing a vast scope of knowledge.  Many books have been written on search engine optimization (SEO) alone.  And that’s just one topic, albeit an important one.

So the question becomes: how do you manage your time with maximum efficiency?  Every person or company has a different budget.  But we’re all short on the most critical commodity of all: time.

Just ask billionaire businessman, Dallas Mavericks owner, and Shark Tank star Mark Cuban.  He notes that time is the most valuable asset anyone has and that it can’t be bought, found, stored, or traded.

Fortunately, several tools exist that can leverage your digital outreach while saving you time.  Sounds great, right?

BuzzSumo, Buffer, UnfollowSpy, and MailChimp cover a large portion of managing content for websites, blogs, and social media.

Analytics, social media, and email

online toolsBuzzSumo offers a means by which to discover the most popular topic areas and keywords for your audience and subject matter.  Just search for your keywords and see what comes up.  The first page of results for the most shared content in your selected area will appear for the free version.  To see additional results, you will have to upgrade to BuzzSumo pro.  Still, just knowing the top ten most shared items of interest can be of immense help in determining your marketing strategy.

Buffer allows users to schedule social media posts ahead of time, posting across multiple platforms simultaneously, and picking out specific times of day that will provide maximum viewership.  LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus are all supported on the free plan.  “Awesome” and “business” plans offer additional features and functionality, along with support for Pinterest.  Buffer also provides analytics on every post, showing you how well each post does.

UnfollowSpy can send custom messages to new followers on Twitter or SoundCloud, along with several other features.  As the name suggests, it can be used to remove Twitter followers who do not follow you back.  The free version limits you to unfollowing a maximum of 100 people per day.  It also has thirteen other capabilities such as allowing you to send Tweets that mention a number of your most recent followers, tools for managing lists, searching for specific tweets, and more.  The only downside to this one is that it’s only available for two platforms, Twitter and SoundCloud.

MailChimp manages your mailing lists, an important asset of any growing business.  MailChimp allows for scheduling automated emails, A/B testing of different messages, E-commerce features, advanced analytics, and much more.  This one is too involved to get into much detail here.  The free version supports up to 2,000 email subscribers.

There are other services that perform the same or similar functions described.  I’ve included the most widely used and user-friendly ones.  These tools can make sharing your content much easier and more efficient.
